It became obvious that in her interview with CBS News reporter Gayle King, Ivanka Trump has no idea what complicit means. It’s an unfortunate situation, especially since she admitted in this interview that she doesn’t even know what it means to be complicit and that is exactly what Ivanka is being dubbed as by the public.
Saturday Night Live did a parody perfume sketch that clearly defines what complicit is and why she is being labeled as such.
“I don’t know what it means to be complicit, but I hope time will prove that I have done a good job and much more importantly, that my father’s administration is the success that I know it will be,” Ivanka told CBS News in an interview taped Tuesday.
When veteran reporter Gayle King asked her how she feels about the accusation, she responded with this: “I don’t know that the critics who may say that of me, if they found themselves in this unique and unprecedented situation that I am now in, would do any differently than I am doing,” she said. “So, I hope to make a positive impact.”
Ivanka Trump has recently taken a position in the administration as Special Assistant to the President. This was her first TV interview since her father took office. In this new position, she will remain focused on women’s empowerment and education. She has been a devoted and trusted advisor to President Trump since his early days in the presidential campaign.
Opinion here is that the American people hope that she gets wiser on how the public will view and label not just her but her father as well with every mistake she makes. The position she has taken on is a sticky situation and four years can prove too much for this delicate business woman.
