Like all the half-time performers in the past, it is extremely difficult to decline performing at the Super Bowl. The likes of Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, and even Beyoncé couldn’t resist. Jay-Z did! The popular rapper and mogul has reportedly declined the opportunity to perform at the 2018 Super bowl. In other words, Jay Z has reached a level of “Rich” and celeb status that he is able to say “nope” to the NFL.
Our sources state that Jay declined because of the treatment of Colin Kaepernick. The unconfirmed reports say that Jay is angry at how Colin is being ousted from playing Football because he chose to kneel during the National Anthem. Some are saying this is a bold yet political move on Jay’s part and he is simply putting his money where his mouth is. The amount of money Jay-Z would profit from a Super Bowl performance is in the very high millions but again, Jay-Z the world-famous rapper and ex crack dealer can throw a middle finger to the NFL and not lose sleep over it.
However, Jay-Z may end up agreeing to perform so that he can use the platform as a means of getting political message out to the masses, like his wife did with her controversial performance:
If Jay-Z does decide follow in his wife’s shadow and become a political mouthpiece of the left, then fans can still expect an outstanding performance on game day.
