Waco Cop Helping with Houston Flood Gets a Letter from His Daughter. Speechless!!

An off-duty police officer, travelled from Waco, Texas to Houston to help with the catastrophic Houston flood. The officer we are speaking of wishes to remain unnamed but Sgt. Patrick Swanton is a veteran police officer with the Waco Police Department and spoke on his behalf. Unexpectedly, he received a letter from his kids.

The unnamed has two kids, a son, and a daughter. It is believed that it was his daughter that wrote the letter. This is what the letter said:

“Dear Daddy,” the letter began. “I hope you don’t get hurt, but I hope you help other people that need it more than you do. I hope no one gets hurt more. I hope everyone gets away [from] the hurricane.”

“I love you, Scott & Makenna,”

Sgt. Patrick Swanton also added this…

“As our off-duty officers head into harm’s way to help with hurricane Harvey rescues, we thought we’d share with you one of their family members thoughts,” he wrote in the caption. “And let me say this, I know this young lady (the Officers [sic] daughter) personally and know that it took everything that her daddy could do to keep her from loading up with him to go.”

This is exactly what the spirit of Texas is all about. During these very sad times, we know that there are our younger generation out there that have helpful and giving hearts. Amazing!
